Who we are

Our vision

We want to make life better for Australian chickens.

A staggering 700 million chickens are raised and slaughtered in Australia every year for their meat. Yet current industry and certification standards lag well behind the rest of the world. That’s why we’ve come together to campaign for change.

Australians expect animals to be farmed to high animal welfare standards. It’s time for the chicken industry to step up and meet those standards.

Better Chicken Australia

The Better Chicken Australia campaign is a joint project of three national animal welfare organisations from Australia and New Zealand.
